No, the error you are getting is correct. You need to update the system.

You didn't, get a redhat 5.0 distribution and try and install 7.3 rpms on it!

In order to make Sun/Cobalt service a necessity, they put things in strange
places and configure them such that you are dependent on Sun/Cobalt to keep
the system running

There is, only it's a $650.00 course offered by Sun/Cobalt.
