RE: [cobalt-users] linux.slapper.worm

Hi Dan

Yes your post makes sense and I have located a rpm to upgrade which is
this openssl-0.9.6e-1.i386.rpm I have tried to install this as su and I
get permission denied!

I tried to install it thus ./openssl-0.9.6e-1.i386.rpm but zilch is the
result. It is clear I don't know much about linux but one day maybe :-)

Any help in how I can install this rpm would be great.

Regards

David

I thought about that after I posted :P, (since I used to run a RaQ2),
but decided better safe than sorry as you never know what's around the
corner waiting to bite. If a more secure version of whatever you're
running is available, better to install it than have to explain to a
customer or someone down the road why you didn't. Even if it's not
vulnerable, a customer that learns you're running a version of something
that's been identified as open to hack doesn't want to hear details
about how it's not vulnerable on "my" server.
