Will not hurt a thing. We had to do the same thing on a Raq4 with the
PGKMaster php4.1.2 install, also seems like we had a Magic Quotes issue also
we had to turn to "on". When you edit the php.ini you will need to restart
apache

/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart <Sorry for incorrect post.>
