Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply, actually since the rpm is not on the CD and
I couldnt find a MIPs compiled RPM for dhcp I copied all the files on
the CD (which strangely enuff was there) to the system on by one. The
files being:
/etc/dhcpd.conf
/usr/sbin/dhcpd (was not there origianlly)
/usr/sbin/dhcpd-2.2.x (the second one needs it)
/var/dhcp/dhcpd.leases
Now in my set up the inside line of the RaQ is hooked up t o a switch
(to which my boxes on the lan are hooked up to), the IP of the inside
line is 192.168.1.1 (eth0)
When I do a /etc/rc.d/init.d/dhcpd start eth0
I get:
[root@raptor init.d]# dhcpd start eth0

No subnet declaration for eth0 (192.168.1.1).
Please write a subnet declaration for the network segment to
which interface eth0 is attached.
exiting.
Now I have no idea how to "write a subnet declaration for the network
segment to
which interface eth0 is attached." I looked in the manual and coudlnt
find anything.
Any idea what that means???
Also all the daemons that are running httpd, telnetd, dnsd..... etc are
running out of /usr/raptor/bin. Why?? Is there a init file to which I
could just add a line referencing a copy of dhcpd in /usr/raptor/bin??
TIA
AM

Hi,
I have a Cache Raq4 running Velociraptor. I needed the dhcp server to be
running so did a
chkconfig --list
and then found that it was not running so did a
chkconfig dhcpd on
Didnt get any error msgs, however a ps -aux dis not list the process.
Also my two linux boxes running behind that could not find the dhcp server.
That only makes it start on boot-up.
You need to do
/etc/rc.d/init.d/dhcpd start
to get it going NOW
Also theres no sign of the dhcpd script in /usr/sbin as the script dhcpd
in /etc/rc.d/init.d says.
the executable is in /usr/sbin/dhcpd
Whats going on?? Where is the server?? Can I download the relevent rpm
from somewhere and install it??
Also on checking the CD i found that the files for the server are there
(on the cd) but no rpm there too.
I have never used it on a RaQ that alone a cacheRaq,
but give it a try, I can't see how it ca hurt anything, except you won'd get
and leases.
