I'd like a fix for whatever causes the problem, not a knowledge base answer
describing the how/what of the problem. I fully understand why .htaccess files
stop working, but I fail to understand how seemingly unrelated changes (and in
some cases we've had it happen where no one will fess up to changing anything)
can break 100 sites. I have fixed it more times than I care to count...
Also, I fail to find it in a cursory search of the KB using the words
"htaccess" or "access.conf", could you pass along a URL? It happens often
enough that I feel the need to remind everyone of the fix before I go on
vacation, which says to me there's a underlying issue that needs to be
addressed.
