5.35 means your cpu is doing as much work as 5 processors and is performing
badly as a result. so if you have only one processor then you are in trouble
and somethings either spiralled out of control or some bad code somewhere.

if you only have one processor your value should stay under 0.99, if you
have 2 it should stay under 1.99 etc etc.

i got a cobalt up to about 135.00 once running about 200 endless loops. not
much happened though. just everythign took an age as you would expect. i
think it rebooted and was fine again.
