The /var/log/maillog long on my RaQ4i routinely fills up with
not-quite-errors every 15 minutes when the system polls to make sure that
sendmail is still running. A sample log extract:
Sep 9 11:45:00 hostname.dom.ain sendmail[28090]: NOQUEUE: localhost
[127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
Sep 9 12:00:00 hostname.dom.ain sendmail[28671]: NOQUEUE: localhost
[127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
Is there a way to prevent this from filling up the log file but not lose my
ability to monitor the status of sendmail?
Cheers,
Abe Schachter
