Greetings,
I give... I'm working with a RaQ4r, and with all that's
ever been posted here about modifying 404's and other pages,
I can't find the stock Cobalt pages to replace for the life of
me!
Where ARE these things? I can't find any file or conf
reference to the stock set and, quite frankly, setting up
separate 404's for all the sites on this particular Server
just isn't worth the effort nor the time.
/usr/admserv/html/.cobalt/error
You many have to configure your ftp client to vier directories starting
with a "."
The directory is there though!
The reply below indicates two options. One, the Apache
reference, requires a degree in something from somewhere to
code all that and pray you're not trashing anything. The
second, a more plausible replacement method, doesn't exist
anywhere on this Server? The /usr/admserv/html/ portion
is intact, but the .cobalt/ and beyond are non-existent.
What are you viewing the directory structure with?
ftp? if so, you need to configure your ftp client
directories starting with a "." are hidden unless you configure it to see them
ssh? shouldn't be a problem
download putty from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/
use this instead of telnet
disable telnet (you will need shell access)
download winscp2 from http://winscp.vse.cz/eng/
use this instead of ftp
both of these applications are secure and telnet and ftp are not.
There's another reply with the stock reference for
Virtual sites from RaQUK, which is nice, but also a pain
to do for multiple sites.
SO, seeing as I can't believe I'm the only one with
a Cobalt product that can't get this task overwith, does
anyone out there have a viable step-by-step on replacing
the stock .html files for all the codes that Cobalt stuck
one in for? Or at least the 404 and I can fake it from
there?
Any help seriously appreciated!
