On some mailservers the setting of a mail as HIGH priority forces an email
to be sent now and not to wait till the next poll of the remote server, this
is meant to be a cost saving feature when on modem or ISDN dial up, all mail
is sent/received once every hour/two/three/four or whatever, instead of
dialling up every time someone wants to send one email.
I don't think anyone REALLY thinks that their email is more important than
anyone else's and there may be a good reason for the exclamation mark!!!!!
Paul.
