I have had this problem and I can confirm for a RAQ4R anyhow that when
the /var partition is full you can telnet or SSH as admin but cannot su
- to root. I was able to use admin in it full capacity by on the /var
partition I could not locate a single file owned by admin to delete. I
have since added a 100K file owned by admin to the /var partition and
sym linked my log and spool directories of to another partition. The
reason I chose to use sym link rather than move the directories was so
avoid any troubles from Sun patches etc.
