Very interesting question. Once I thought to be such customer.
What I thought it should be:
1. I have a domain name. (and a Small Buisiness Server on Dial-up -
this was very popular Internet connection once)
2. I want all mails like user1@xxxxxxxxxx and user2@xxxxxxxxx
was going to mydialupuser account (classic catch-all user)
3. I thought to set up fetchmail (or similar) to POP3 messages
from this account
4. Filter based on RCPT TO: field should be redirect to actuall
users on my local server.
Just ask user what he really want. Once you know what he want
- you'll know what to do. (In the case described above, you should
open domain, one user, catch-all to this user and POP3 access to
this account.)
