Yes, well that is good!
Now exactly how are you trying to log in....
I have been half asleep and conect to my server without a username and can't 
get the password to work

For example

ssh my.server.tld     Won't work, BUT
ssh admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 
does work, and  ssh -l admin my.server.tld   will also work

Make sure you are connecting as a user, else ssh thinks the user is "" (null)
