No, but I did for earlier versions of MySQL. The first version I put on my
box required it sometime ago (version 3.23.32). I followed these
instructions.

I believe the latest Cobalt patches upgrade glibc. You might not need to do
anything. Check your glibc, you should see this below if you're up to date
with patches.
[root stage]# rpm -q glibc
glibc-2.0.7-29.4C2
