Re: [cobalt-users] Window media / Real Servers (live)

I can confidently say it cant. I tried using real media server on my cobalt,
and it failed miserably. the Processor time Pegged out, and the video
quality was horrific.

I got better quality and lower processor cycles from a windows 2000 test
server running on a pentium 166 with 128mb ram! and the cobalt was on a T1,
whereas the 2000 server was sitting on an 128k connection, so it apparently
had nothing to do with network bandwidth... based on my estimation, the
cobalt couldnt even push enough out to fill a 56k pipe.

I hate to admit, but mickeysoft actually built a decent product (for a
change)

and my disclaimer, is that the real server I installed was stock for linux,
with no tweaks of any kind (software or server). I tested it right out of
the box, so its possible the performance could be tweaked.
