Jasper, I think you may be confusing some of the aspects of POP with
SMTP.
You don't have to add anything to the email server services to use
mail.vva-eindhoven.nl.
Do you really have a capital "V" in your first line? If so, you should
change it to lower case.

You did't test it. You tested smtp (sendmail).
To test POP you must do this:
[admin admin]$ telnet mail.vva-eindhoven.nl 110
as 110 is the port for POP email.
When I do the test, here's what I get:
[admin admin]$ telnet mail.vva-eindhoven.nl 110
Trying 212.61.53.94...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
[admin admin]$
It looks like your POP server isn't answering. Do you have email turned
on?
