Have you tried entering the domain name into the RaQ control panel for
relaying? Does that work users with return addresses in that domain?
I'm betting not; I believe all that sendmail does for domain names in
the relaying box (it's a relaying file, actually) is resolve the name to
an IP# and allow relaying for that IP#.

I'm not sure of "pop before smtp" works with IMAP or not. If not, then
you probably can't do it.

Here why:

Sendmail won't relay for off-network users unless their IP#s are in that
relay box. And if they've got dynamic IP (as most dialup and most aDSL
users do), the only universal way of getting their IP# in there is POP
before SMTP.

Anything else would result in your box being open for use by all
spammers.

We simply tell our users that if they don't have static IP they need to
use their ISPs outgoing mail server. If they don't want to do that we
educate them about spam and why it's a bad thing.

If they threaten to leave we ask them to check first to see if they can
do it with any other provider, before leaving. I'd bet they can't.
