Subject: [cobalt-users] Mailing list setup newbie questions

I am just starting to get to grips with mailing lists on a RAQ4 server.
I
have the following queries:

1. When subscribing to a list xxxx, majordomo sends a "Welcome" message
indicating that queries should be sent to owner-xxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Where
do
such messages go? I sent a couple of queries to the address and they
didn't
get bounced, so I presume I don't have to set up the account manually. I
need to get that email address redirected to me.

2. The RAQ4 mailing list configuration screen seems to think that the
local
email addresses are all of the form "username@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" instead
of
"username@xxxxxxxxxxxx". Also, messages from majordomo come from
"majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". How do I get rid of the www from the email
addresses? I tried setting the host name to blank in the site settings
screen, but the server gives the message "Host and domain names are
required".

Thanks

There should be a e-mail alias definition for owner-xxxx:
in the /etc/aliases.majordomo file. It is probably aliased
to the admin for the site. You can change it to any e-mail
address you like, it doesn't have to be a local account.
