Depending on the results this may give you a pointer, as some of these may time-out or reply with a failure.
If you get failures on any of these, then there is already a case for slowdown. Whats your desktop use for its nameserver entries??
Hope that points you in the right direction, although by design NAT is introducing another MACHINE that has to process (in a way) the packets, re-write them and shove them back onto the internet, so it does naturally cause slight slow-down.
