Hi Yah,
Have a raq3 which has been running chkrootkit 0.31 quite happily for over a
year now. Decided to upgrade to 0.36 last night, the install went okay and
after running ./chkrootkit from the command line I noticed the following
show up...
Checking `ldsopreload'... can't exec ./strings-static, not tested
Checking `lkm'... not tested: can't exec ./chkproc
Checking `sniffer'... not tested: can't exec ./ifpromisc
Checking `wted'... not tested: can't exec ./chkwtmp
Checking `z2'... not tested: can't exec ./chklastlog
Now I've searched high and low for a solution - there was one person asking
the same question on a google search but it was in Polish and so was the
reply so that didn't help matters :( I've also see a few similar questions
asked in the Cobalt user group archives but none of them have been answered
or solved :(
I know it not a compromised machine because if I run the old version 0.31
it's okay. I've checked the permissions of the files that can't be executed
and they seem to be okay and even tried running them individually from the
command line and no error messages pop-up or say I can't execute them.
Anyone come across this or any solutions to what the problem may be?
Regards
Chae
