There was a discussion here a few months back about how to prevent 
end-user/customers from removing files such as the .htaccess.  At that time 
we went through a long drawn out scernio ending up with the point that the 
only way to "prevent" someone from deleting something that is "in" their 
directory is the immutable attrib.
