I see the built-in gui backup is not very impressive. I need to backup/restore site settings and users. Using only tar, is this possible on a RaQ4? I would hope that most of this is stored in /etc.
I am considering raqbackup.sh http://www.neuhaus-internet.de/cobalt/raqbackup/
Any comments on that?

I have just found out that the restore cd has been used at least
2 times before I started here. According to Tech Support it is a "bad" OS restore cd.
That explains why the dual 40GB hdds show up as 5.6GB.
I see no alternative but a full reinstall. Is this "bad" restore cd a common thing?
I don't believe it is a bad restore CD.
I have had this problem and it was bad info on one of the hard drives.
Which due to raid ended up on both hardrives.
Boot the sever from ROM
Then you do a dd if=/dev/zero of-/dev/hda then the same for hdc
This will blow away all the info on the drives.
Then run the restore CD and they should be OK
The other way is to remove the hard drives install on another system
and do the dd thing.
