Subject: [cobalt-users] hard drive upgrade on RaQ 2
Howdy,
I am considering installing a larger hard drive in a RaQ 2. I will be
reinstalling the OS, so backup will not be an issue. My question is this:
is there a limit to the size of drive that the RaQ 2 Restoration CD can
handle? In other words, will I be limited to a ~30 GB drive, or will a
modern 100 GB drive work just fine? (I'm aware of the upper limits of
older IDE, that's no problem as 80-100 GB is about all the larger I'll be
using for several years).
I did some searching and was not able to find a final answer to this
question.

While about 130GB is the IDE address limit, a lower practical limit _may_
be imposed by the BIOS. I'm not sure what limit the Raq2 BIOS may have.
