I have a new (to me) Cube 2 which should set up in only 15 minutes. That's
correct to a certain measure; the lights blink and it doesn't billow smoke.
But it doesn't connect to the great world outside; the Web site is only
available to the LAN, which is rather silly as that's only another two
computers in the same room.
While I've probably made a mess of the DNS configuration, a more immediate
concern is the firewall. In searching the archives, I've discovered that
Cobalt had a Cube 2 Firewall Configuration Wizard. Unfortunately, the URL
link found in the archives as recently as June has been broken and now
redirects to Sun's main Cobalt site with no obvious help. All the search
engines in my universe have not found any new link. Hints and suggestions
would be appreciated.
I do think that Corporations like Sun would be more profitable if they were
more helpful with what are truly fundamental issues concerning their
products. The lost link was brought to the Webmasters' attention last week,
but with neither correction nor acknowledgement returned.
