[cobalt-users] Qube3 ... RAID disks incorrectly connected

Hi Guys,

Some time ago I had a RAID failure in a Qube3 and after changing the failed
disk, it failed again. Since I felt that this was very unlikely I looked a
little closer and found that the disks had been incorrectly connected (i.e.
the ribbon cables had been crossed).

I've just taken delivery of two new Qube3s and after applying the necessary
software updates and added a couple of other things I decided to open them
up and disconnect disk A to test the RAID capability ... One of the machines
has the ribbon cables crossed ... it reports Disk B has failed when I
disconnected Disk A.

Out of all the Qube3s shipped, what are the chances that I get the 2 with
crossed cables. I'm really starting to wonder about the ones I've never
bothered to open and check.

I'd suggest Sun has a QA problem.

Cheers, Malcolm
