Hi Tom,

I don't have a Qube, but can suggest that the /etc/profile or 
/etc/bash_profile or /etc/bashrc (note: no dots) will do the same thing 
system-wide. However, that may not be necessary. You can create the 
.profile in your user account (sorry: I don't know how paths work on a 
Qube) and test it. Just keep in mind: those settings don't take effect 
until you log in.
