You should be getting something like this in the expanded header of the
message at the bottom:
X-Mailer: Open WebMail 1.65 20020701
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1
X-Originating-IP: [xx.xx.xx.xx]
X-OriginatingIP: xx.xx.xx.xx (someone)
X-MailScanner: Found to be clean
Or like this:
X-MailScanner: Found to be clean
X-UIDL: KNM!!IM;"!gD!"!g10!!
Also try this to see if mailscanner is running:
telnet/ssh into your RaQ
su - to root
cd /var/log
dir
pico maillog
You should see this if mailscanner is running:
Jul 18 04:12:27 www mailscanner[17152]: MailScanner E-Mail Virus Scanner
version 3.22 starting.
Jul 18 04:12:27 www mailscanner[17152]: Configuring mailscanner for
sendmail...
And something like this:
Jul 18 04:03:48 www mailscanner[17152]: Scanning 1 messages, 3660 bytes
Jul 18 04:03:48 www mailscanner[17152]: Scanned 1 messages, 3660 bytes in 0
seconds
If you see these lines, mailscanner is running, if not, and I'm sure I'll be
corrected on this if incorrect, at about 04:00 a cron job runs that
re-starts it.
And last but not least, check to make sure it installed correctly, go
through the log's carefully and see if anything may have gone wrong.
