I think Dan is kind of right. It is important to know where to find
answers without the mailinglist. Google, the Archive and of course
the man pages are the most valuable sources.
In the end of the day, what would you do if the mailinglist would be
down for 1 day or 2? Turn off the server?
Before you buy a server, do some research. Before you hit a button on
the server, do some research. Before you type in a command, do some
research.
If you are new to this field, i have 3 advices for you: read, read and
read.
