Years ago when we got our first RaQ2 we spoke to aCobalt sales engineer
about Majordomo, because we were in the list-hosting business (we still
are) and needed a robust solution which included true domain names (no
"www."), digests and archives. One engineer was honest with us; he said
the Cobalt Mailing list facility was designed to do specific things
through the gui; he advised us to install our own if we needed full
majordomo functionality.
While some majordomo functionality has been added since then, we've
already created our own majordomo installation, which we've installed
for us and for others, and we've never looked back <smile>.
Now that majordomo is becoming a bit long in the tooth we're seriously
looking at Mailman, but the only installations we've done so far have
been from Red Hat RPMs on a straight Red Hat linux installation.
