Ok, i'll give myself an answer ;) (for the record so if anyone else is searching...)
First of all: the units are RAQ1 units. The OS Restore CD downloaded was the MIPS ALL CD (or RAQ1 cd if you like).
Second: The NIC of your "donor" PC does matter indeed as bob pointed out. My expirience: Intel eterpro 100 worked perfect. I've tried dell, noname an 3com 905B and they didn't work.
third of all: The restore cd (size aprox 350MB) holds the RAQ1 sw, RAQ2 sw, CUBE 2 (in different format) AND the RAQ1 -> RAQ2 destructive update
One can restore the raq1->raq2 update at once, works perfectly.
Hope this helps some others who search the list.
