Subject: [cobalt-users] no ping but ssh and http work
Can anyone explain to me why when I attempt to ping our RAQ3 I get a
"request timed out" but I can use a browser to get to the site and ssh works
getting to the site? In the past, ping has a very reliable way to see if
the system is running? I tried using Ping Plotter which shows the trace
route to the node and it reports that the destination is unreachable. Yet,
I can login and view web pages. Doing a ping on the node to its address
works of course. Any ideas?

Perhaps bacause the ICMP UDP port used by ping is blocked?
