RE: [cobalt-users] ColdFusion MX install tip

Sigh..one QUICK correction:

If you are running out of space on / partition, consider installing on
/home/opt instead. Turns out CFMX is a BIG install - my active monitor
hasn't stopped blinking since then...hehe

It works, kemosabe - it works! =)

I'm not the only one who has been able to run without problems; Flare
Networks, Inc. has been able to pull it off as well - Nick Richards gave me
a head's up on the httpd.conf corruption and I was able to fill in the gaps.

The main point is to make sure your cobalt IS patched up with EVERYTHING.
I'm sure MM's working on a .so

BTW, in case anyone gets confused in the install:

install coldfusion into the default dir (unless anyone has a better idea?) -
it's /opt/coldfusionmx/

your default web directory, which is described as /var/www/html on the
RedHat, is /home/sites/home/web on the Cobalt

your httpd.conf file is located in /etc/httpd/conf - no need to add the
trailing / or the actual file name.

your httpd (not the startup/shutdown script) is located in /usr/sbin/httpd

your httpd startup/shutdown script is locate din /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd

I think that was about it...oh, and do NOT install the examples on a
production machine! and NEVER EVER run CF5 and CFMX side-by-side on a
production machine! CF5/CFMX can NOT share ports which means that CFMX would
have to use the internal port - and even MM says the internal port's a joke!
^_^
