Thanks Gerald (worried that today was a bad day to post)
I don't think it's timing out, ultraedit establishes a connection when you
need it.
When trying to connect again, it gives the 'no response' error.
I'll test that idea though by having cuteftppro running and see if it breaks
at the same time.
So far, everytime I have reset the ftp server through the gui it works ok.
