When I am SSH'ed into my box, and I change to a directory like this:
cd /home/sites/www.sitename.com/web
then I do:
pwd
and it shows the link name..
Below is a snip from my SSH window..
<SSH-SNIP>
[root web]# cd /home/sites/site1/web
[root web]# pwd
/home/sites/site1/web
[root web]# cd /home/sites/www.sitename.com/web
[root web]# pwd
/home/sites/www.sitename.com/web
[root web]#
</SSH-SNIP>
It all depends on how you entered the directory..
