Hi Yah,
Eddy suggested modifications to my IPChains rules...
Made the changes as show using port 123 for the ntpdate then flushed the
rules and went to sync the clock.
This time no errors from the GUI - cool - went straight to webmins time
settings and sync'd system time and hardware time to the ntp server and
voila no errors - cool. Now all I have to do is see if it keeps the time
consistent between system and hardware time.
As soon as the servers sync'd with the ntp server port sentry jumped in and
blocked it and added it to the IPChain ruleset, modified the
portsentry.ignore rules to allow the ntp server then flushed IPChain rules
again..
Cheers Eddy, this wasn't really affecting the server but it was bugging me
knowing that it wasn't correct been eating away at me for weeks now. :)
I'll let you know if there are any problems and thanks again to all that
replied and offered a multitude of corrective suggestions.
Regards
Chae
