Hi Yah,
Well went through the installation of rdate-1.2 as laid out by Gerald and
the results are as follows...
[root@ns /]# /usr/sbin/rdate -p ntp-0.cso.uiuc.edu
rdate: Could not connect socket: Connection refused
[root@ns /]# /usr/sbin/rdate -p ntp-0.cso.uiuc.edu
rdate: Could not connect socket: Connection refused
[root@ns /]# /usr/sbin/rdate -p ntp1.kansas.net
rdate: Could not connect socket: Connection refused
[root@ns /]# /usr/sbin/rdate -p ntp.ourconcord.net
rdate: Could not connect socket: Connection refused
[root@ns /]# -----Same results for the next 6 servers used -----
Tried the command line first before changing and modifying cron etc.
What ports does NTP use on a RaQ3? Could NTP be blocked by Portsentry or
IPChains?
Given up today going to try something different - catch up on maintenance
chores :)
Regards
Chae
