What you see is normal

for every connection httpd spawns a process

apologies if this seems an obvious question, i'm still learning about my
cobalt box (RaQ4). it's a steady process but i'm getting there...

when i run ps-aux from the command line, i get multiple entries for httpd,
asp and rmserver(Real Server).

is this right? the only difference in each entry seems to be the PID. i have
tried stopping and starting each of the services in turn but they seem to
restart all the separate processes each time. what's more, there seems to be
several httpd.admserv processes present which date back to 29 Jun...

can i just kill these processes? have i been compromised? is this normal?
when i run top, i get 124 processes, 123 sleeping...

any help mucho appreciata,

andy
