Re: [cobalt-users] Open Webmail fails, but worked this morning

I don't think it is the browser! I've tried Netscape 6.2, MSIE 5.5,
and Lynx. I can try Mozilla and Amaya (maybe Opera and Omniweb too)
when I get home tonight.

I am mystified mostly because it worked this morning after I installed, and
ceased in the afternooon. It is quite possible that something else
created the problem. But I can't think of anything that would do it.

It seems to be related to the unix_auth.pl part of OpenWebmail. I
tried to see if I could install pam_auth instead, which I
coundn't. However, instead of hanging, it instantly splashes up Perl
error messages on the web page. Currently, I just put in the loginname
and password and the web pages spins its wheels until it times
out. There is no error message, save the browsers repsons to a page
that never arrived.

It is incredibly difficult to debug because there seems to be no
errors generated in the httpd logs, or system messages. Maybe there is
a place to look that I can't find. Is webmail supposed to be logging?

If someone is a member of the OpenWebmail forum and wanted to post a
note about this, I would appreciate it.
