Anybody have any problems with the Duplicate Email Alias 2.0.1 patch
(RaQ4-All-System-2.0.1-13993.pkg) ?
I searched the archives + google and couldn't find anything. After
installing this patch, everything seemed to work just fine, until I messed
around in the GUI under a vhost..and noticed that I received an error if I
had an email alias set to "www.domain.com"....now I have read that this
isn't correct, but I've never had any email problems with both
"www.domain.com" and "domain.com" as email aliases. Since the GUI would not
let me save with "www.domain.com", I deleted it, then the GUI let me save
okay. However, shortly afterward, emails sent to that particular domain
began to bounce. I ran makemap hash virtusertable.db < virtusertable which
yielded errors. I corrected the errors, but the emails continued to bounce.
All DNS entires are correct. I compared the new sendmail.cf to the old
sendmail.cf, and saw numerous changes. I then backed up the new sendmail.cf,
copied the old sendmail.cf to sendmail.cf, restarted sendmail and now
everything works....(with the email aliases set as "www.domain.com" and
"domain.com"...........WTF?
So if anyone else has had a problem with this patch, do let me know. I'm
quite curious as to how the problem was solved, if at all.
TIA,
Mike
