I'm guessing you mean su() here.  Dunno.  I just ssh onto the box as admin, 
su - then look at the logs.  If perl is your forte, you could probably 
hack up some filters to ignore the common stuff.  If you want to download
them, you can either scp them individually, or tar them up and scp them.

Assuming your 'own computer' is a wintel box, most zip utils like WinZip
understand unix tar format.  Most ssh clients have scp.  Unless the logs
have crap like you fatfingering "su -<enter><root password><enter>" already
as root so it says "su rootPass unsuccessful", you can probably just mail
it to yourself and dl it via browser.
