To restart portsentry:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/portsentry restart
(Or change restart to stop/start as needed)
To check its running, either do
/etc/rc.d/init.d/portsentry status
Or, the more manual way, do a
ps ax |grep [p]ortsentry
And it should return something like:
28372 ? S 2:12 /usr/sbin/portsentry -atcp
28374 ? S 8:03 /usr/sbin/portsentry -audp
Which shows the two portsentry processes monitoring your TCP and UDP ports.
Another happy RaQ user ;-)
