Thanks Jay and Tim,
For you help on 'Can I access all files via FTP?', I can see from what you
have said and what I've read since, that its best to install SSH and access
everything by a secure connection... Sorry for being such a newby... I've
always had Telnet turned off and everything else paired back to a minimum,
security wise.
I'm the only user of the RaQ3, with 2 websites and an externally located
'infopop' forum, which only takes graphics off the website and I believe is
not a security risk from what I've read.
It looks like Unix commands' is the next thing I can add to the work load I
do on my low budget feature filmmaking amongst, writer, producer, director,
DOP, webmaster and 'Unix site administrator... If there is anyone in the UK
who would be able to help, or charge a small fee to help, install SSH and
Logcheck, please give me a call or email.
Otherwise as per the rest of my films, I'll add it to my resume, 'proficient
in Unix'. God it seems daunting... I know my OS is Mac OS X, but I never see
the Unix part...
Anyway the other question is; Why, even though I have email turned off for
'makingmymovie.com' do I still receive spam/email for
'anythingat@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'... By the way 'makingmymovie.com' is the
default site. I understand by turning the email option off, that I can't
receive anything to 'myaliase@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' but why and how, can I not
stop emails going to 'anythingat@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'...
Many many thanks.
Your resident newbie
