I just tried this on my own RaQ4 which is fully patched. There were no
issues... I entered "test-user@xxxxxxxxxxxx" and even
"test.-user@xxxxxxxxxxxx" and both were accepted by the UI with no
problems.
I checked the CGI - it's running the 'netutil_test_emailaddr' function
(from Netutil.pm) against the forwarding address, which is just a syntax
check. The username regular expression specifically allows A-Z, a-z, 0-9,
as well as the following characters: {}*+/=?^`|~
So your address is failing for a reason other than having a hyphen in it...
