A:
1.15 I think is the correct spec. The Raq2 SIMM slots are completely
vertical, and the 1.25 (1_1/4") sticks Crucial sent are exactly? (nano-inch
over) flush with the case sides.
I am going to try the desparation approach though, and laid electrical tape
on the top edge of the SIMMS, and I am thinking/hoping the lid, if
touching, is not stressing the motherboard.

But certainly, FYI Crucial is selling out-of-spec memory :-(
(price is good though: $60 for a 128 MB.. unless it breakes my Raq !!)
