I think that those on the list that are beyond the level of "appliance
operator" realize that some of us:

A. Have minimal admin/linux skills,
B. Are truly thankful for the help on this list,
C. Are attempting to understand more.

That in mind, don't be too quick to label what you with your experience
view as simple, when it may be over the heads of folks who are using washing
machines.
