Bruce,

Thanks for the response.  I was wondering how one would make a request to
include the option to add a subnet, versus a whole network, in the future?
Is that something feasible?

I checked the sendmail website for allowable entries in the 'access' file
(which controls relaying, 550 bounces, etc).  A valid format for an entire
network is

A.B.C

So, if you want to allow relaying for a whole Class C, you just put in

123.456.789

on a line by itself in the "Relay for the following Hosts/Domains" field in
the Email Settings screen.  Then click "Save Changes", then "Save Changes"
again on the main Service Settings screen.

I tested this on my own colo raq4, allowing relaying for the entire Class C
my DSL line is on.  I could then telnet into the raq4 on port 25, do a
"mail from: " my Sun account, "rcpt to: " a fictitious account, and the
mail was sent through, since I was connecting from an IP address in the
Class C I allowed relaying for.

When I removed the network entry, I was no longer allowed to relay.

Note: you cannot go any finer grained than an entire network. The UI
doesn't let you put in / or *, etc.  So you can allow relaying for an
entire Class C, an entire Class B, or even an entire Class A.  But that's
it.
