How big is the database?  How much bandwidth separates it from
the server?

The above might be painful if you do it on a daily basis.  What I
usually do in your situation is install the appropriate ODBC
driver (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) on the Windows machine, create a
DSN that points to the Unix DBMS, and have Access be a pretty
front-end for the Unix DBMS.

I'll warn you, though, it's annoyingly slow over DSL, Cable, or
T1.  Ethernet and T3 are fine.  Dialup is outright torture.

You can always dump Access tables to CSV or TAB files, then feed
those to your Unix DBMS.

If you really want to have your RAQ talk to a Windows machine
running Access, install an ODBC driver such as the one from
iodbc.org.  I can't recommend a Perl module for ODBC access,
because I always use C for this sort of thing.

Please give some more details or indicate any preferences, and I
can explain a bit more concretely.
