Yes, I discovered the NIC was critical, just as the KnowledgeBase says. The
third one I bought finally worked for an OS restore. We now use a Toshiba
Satellite 4060CDT for OS restores. With a 3Com Megahertz 10/100 LAN/PC Card
for the NIC and a three-foot-long cross-over cable, it works great on our
two RaQ XTRs. I haven't tried it with our Cube 3 but assume if it worked
fine with the XTRs it will likely work with the Cube.
With the info you and others have provided, I'm going to set the Toshiba
aside and simply save it for OS restores. It works, and that's what counts.
