Hold in the password reset button (hole next to LCD) with a paperclip
while powering the system up. The LCD will say "SERIAL CONSOLE ON" or
"SERIAL CONSOLE OFF".  Repeat the process to toggle the serial port
state.

FYI, this works for all servers that have the password reset button/hole
(all but RaQ550 or RaQ XTR, except possibly very early Qube models -
2700 and the like).
