For _really_ reliable DNS, one needs to go beyond what the RaQ
alone offers.
Combining multiple machines at multiple locations to appear as a
single virtual machine is the best way to do things; one can then
have one or two virtual nameservers that are actually several
machines in diverse locations. This reduces the chance of total
unreachability of any given IP to nearly zero.
Obligatory disclosure: I, along with at least one other list
member, _do_ have a selfish interest in this. I think that I'm
objective, however... I have an interest because I believe in it,
not the other way around.
