Have you checked through the shell to see if the mailbox is full (ie, if
it's got contents more than it's quota)?

It might have messed up the quotas.  Have you tried resetting the quota
for the user?  Set it to something higher than you want, save the
changes, then save it to what you want and save the changes.  let us
know.
